About Our Farm

About

At Quarter Spring Farm, everything begins with the land and the animals we share it with. Our 64 acre homestead in Liberty, Tn-about an hour east of Nashville-is home to a lively herd of goats, a flock of chickens and a few sheep who keep the pastures trimmed. We grow food, raise animals and make products that reflect the simple, sustainable rhythm of farm life.

We started out keeping goats for milk and cheese, but quickly realized they brought us more than food-they brought us laughter and joy. Their playful energy inspired us to start making goat milk soap several years ago, and before long, our hobby became a growing business.

Today, we still make every bar by hand right here on the farm, using milk from our own herd. Goat's milk is naturally rich in vitamins like A, B6, B12 and E.  Its gentle lactic acid helps renew and soften skin. Each batch we make is crafted slowly and simply, without shortcuts or harsh ingredients. Just clean, honest soap that connects you to the land and the animals that make it possible.

Our goal is to live close to the earth, respect our animals and share that goodness with others. Every time you use one of our products, you're getting a little piece of the farm-a reminder that nature makes the best things when you let it.

Why Choose Goat's Milk?

Why did we choose soap?

Birds

Birds

Our chickens are part of the rhythm of life here at Quarter Spring Farm. They spend their days out on pasture, scratching through the grass, chasing bugs and soaking up the Tennessee sunshine. We feed them non-GMO grains and give them room to roam so they grow strong and healthy-no antibiotics, no growth hormones, just good old fashioned fresh air and good feed.

We raise Cornish Rocks along with a few heritage breeds for variety, all processed right here on the farm. When you buy from us, you're getting birds that were raised humanely and with purpose-from pasture to plate, the way it should be.

Goats

Goats

When we first moved out here, we got a few goats for milk and cheese-and quickly discovered they brought a lot more than that. They brought laughter, attitude and a whole lot of personality. Heather fell in love with them and before too long our "couple of goats" turned into a full fledged herd.

These days, our goats roam the hills, keeping the pastures trimmed and our hearts full. They provide the milk that goes into every bar of our handmade soap, and they're the reason our days start early and end happy. They remind us daily why we chose this life: to live close to the land and find joy in the work.

Methods

Methods

Our goats, sheep and hens roam freely across our 64 acres of hills and pastures, rotated often to keep the land healthy and the animals happy. Our broilers move daily to fresh grass and ear a non-GMO, locally sourced diet. We grow much of our own food and avoid chemicals as much as possible. Every choice we make-from how we feed to how we farm-is about caring for the soil, the animals and the people who depend on both.

Woofing

Woofing

Wwoof stands for worldwide opportunities on organic farms. It is a program to connect farmers with those interested in sustainable agriculture. The basic gist is that woofers spend half a day working in return for room, board and knowledge. It is a super neat program, and we have met so many great people that we now call friends because of it. You can find out more about the program at the website. If you are interested in staying at Quarter Spring farm as a woofer please contact us through our host farm profile.
